HOW TO STORE OLIVE OIL
Always Store Olive Oil in a Dark Bottle – exposure to light can cause your olive oil to go bad more quickly than normal. You should store your oil in a dark bottle and out of any sunlight.
This is the reason we store our Ultra Premium olive oils and balsamic vinegars in stainless steel containers (Fusti) and then transfer our products to dark bottles and seal them right in our store. This ensures a fresh bottling and helps prevent exposure to light.
Avoid exposure to Heat – while your oil is good at room temperature, you will want to be sure that you don’t over-expose it to additional heat. Make sure you don’t leave it out where it sits in the sunlight for long periods of time, or next to a hot stove, as that may change the olive oil's shelf life.
Limit exposure to air – exposure to the air can also impact the oil and cause it to go rancid before the expiration date. When using your oil, be sure to get a good seal on it after use. You will also want to ensure that you use it up within a few months after opening it.
